2024 Sustainability & Impact Report: How We’re Building Tech That Matters

This isn’t one of those corporate blog posts with buzzwords and recycled phrases. We just want to tell you what we’ve actually done in 2024 at Gart Solutions — the good, the hard, and the meaningful. Spoiler: It’s been a big year for doing things that matter. At Gart Solutions, we believe tech should do more than work — it should do good. That’s the simple truth behind everything we’ve built this past year. Our 2024 Sustainability & Impact Report isn’t just a document — it’s a look at how we’re choosing to show up in a tough world with smart, responsible, and people-first action. So here’s what’s really inside, no corporate fluff — just the facts, the progress, and the purpose. “Resilience, sustainable tech, and purposeful action can be achieved at any scale.” Fedir KompaniietsCEO of Gart Solutions That’s a quote from our CEO, Fedir Kompaniiets, and it’s become our guiding principle. We’re not a huge company, but what we do — and how we do it — has real impact. Whether it's cutting carbon emissions, supporting displaced professionals, or building secure cloud systems, we're intentional in every choice we make. We’re a Ukrainian tech company. And yes, we’re 100% remote. This part matters. Since the full-scale war began, we've designed our entire company around resilience and flexibility. Our team is fully remote, spread across Ukraine, the EU, and beyond. 80% of us work from outside Ukraine 20% remain in Kyiv, supported with power stations, backup internet, and secure workspacesWhy? Because it keeps people safe and the work moving — no matter what. Since day one of the war, we’ve kept our team safe, our clients supported, and our tech running — not just because it’s our job, but because it’s the right thing to do. And this report shows that we’re serious about more than just code and clouds. We care about people, the planet, and making tech actually useful. Our commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) In 2024, we officially joined the UN Global Compact, which means we’ve committed to aligning our work with the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals — a global blueprint for peace, prosperity, and sustainability. Here's where we're making an impact: Goal 3: Good Health and Well-beingWe support digital health projects and provide mental health access for our team. Goal 5: Gender Equality40% of our leadership team are women. We’re working to grow representation in tech too. Goal 7: Affordable and Clean Energy70% of our infrastructure now runs on carbon-neutral cloud platforms. Goal 8: Decent Work and Economic GrowthWe offer stable jobs, upskill our team, and pay taxes in Ukraine to strengthen the local economy. Goal 9: Industry, Innovation and InfrastructureWe help clients optimize cloud infrastructure and reduce energy waste. Goal 13: Climate ActionOur tech helps save around 25 tons of CO₂ per year, and we're targeting 50 tons by 2026. Goal 16: Peace, Justice and Strong InstitutionsFrom supporting civic tech to donating equipment to defense initiatives, we back Ukraine’s democratic resilience. Goal 17: Partnerships for the GoalsWe actively work with nonprofits, civic organizations, and global partners to scale our impact. Our 2024 wins — in real numbers 💻 Tech that saves energyWe’ve helped clients cut cloud energy use by 20% through smart scaling. Our motto? Use only what you need. 🌍 Carbon-neutral by default70% of all client workloads now run on green cloud platforms. Less waste, smaller footprint. 🧠 Mental health & supportWe’ve built a workplace where psychological safety matters. That includes access to counseling, flexible schedules, and yes — a running club. 👩‍💻 Diversity in action27% of our engineering team are women 40% of our leadership roles held by womenAnd we’re mentoring underrepresented founders and hiring from rural areas, veterans, and displaced communities. 🤝 Pro bono & education 50+ hours of free consulting for NGOs and civic tech 10+ webinars on sustainable IT and cloud cost savings Ongoing mentorship with Projector and local programs 💡 Hardware reuseWe donated 100% of our outdated equipment to Ukraine’s defense tech community — zero waste, real value. How do we work responsibly "Business continuity" isn't just a buzzword for us — it's a reality we've lived since day one of the war. Here’s what powers our day-to-day operations: Cloud-first & disaster-ready: All systems run on GDPR-compliant EU-based Microsoft Azure. Cybersecurity built in: Real-time threat monitoring, audits, and constant staff training. Energy autonomy: Portable stations, Starlink, and solar backups for our Ukrainian team. Remote-first culture: Full flexibility, no office overhead, and a happier team spread across time zones. What’s next for 2025? We’re not stopping here. Here’s what’s on our radar: Cut 50+ tons of CO₂ annually through deeper cloud optimization 150+ hours of pro bono work for mission-driven orgs Start ISO 27001 & 14001 certification for top-tier security and sustainability Boost inclusion efforts with targeted hiring, mentorship, and support for displaced professionals Final word from us Sustainability isn’t a checkbox — it’s how we work, think, and grow. We're not just reacting to global challenges but trying to lead by example, even as a small team. If you’re a business looking to become greener, smarter, and more resilient — or just want to work with a team that cares — we’re here to help.
